When inviting Speakers, please agree the date, time and duration of talk.
Give the likely number of members attending and their age range.
Speakers are usually willing to speak to groups of any size, but an indication is helpful especially if there is to be any participation. Where there is a particularly small Branch, please contact other Branches to join you, particularly if the Speaker is coming a long way.
Telephone bookings –
  • Be considerate about the time you choose to telephone.
  • Always follow up with a letter or e-mail of confirmation.
  • Give details where to park or arrange to meet at station or bus stop.
  • Give the Speaker directions to the venue.
Slide or Film Presentations – Check with the speaker what is needed for their talk.
Remind the Speaker a week beforehand (10 days if by letter) of the date and time of the meeting.
Branches should pay reasonable travel expenses.
Please Note:
When invited to speak in other Dioceses, please inform the Diocesan President of that Diocese and our own Diocesan President.

Loving Lord,
We pray for families around the world.
Bless the work of the Mothers’ Union as we seek
to share your love through the encouragement,
strengthening and support of marriage and family life.
Empowered by your Spirit, may we be united in prayer
and worship, and in love and service reach out
as your hands across the world.
          In Jesus’ name
         All this day, O Lord
Let me touch as many lives as possible for thee,
And every life I touch, do thou by thy spirit quicken,
Whether through the word I speak,
The prayer I breathe, or the life I Live.
